Warranty FAQs

How long is the Warranty ?

Factorydirect's standard warranties are generally from 30 to 90 days. For many types of products 30 to 90 days is more than sufficient. If you feel you need a longer warranty we stand behind our product quality by offering you the ability to upgrade your warranty to as much as 3 years for prices much lower than other warranty providers or our competitors

What does the Warranty cover ?

Both standard and upgraded warranties protect you from issues caused by manufacturer defects.

What is NOT covered by the Warranty ?

Software or hardware compatibility with other products; consumable items (eg. batteries, ink or toner); issues related to buyer's remorse (eg. I don't like it); damage including physical, accidental, cosmetic, or misuse are NOT covered by the standard or upgrade warranties.

How do you handle Warranties?

If a product is deemed defective within the warranty period with the original receipt, the defective component/part will be replaced. If a replacement is not immediately available, and the product was purchased within 10 days, you can choose to either wait for the replacement (typically within 1 week) or choose to receive an in-store credit for the purchase price of the product (valid for 1 year). If the product was purchased more than 10 days ago, the product will be either sent to the head office for repair or replaced at the discretion of the customer service manager.

What is your refund policy ?

Due to the deep discount nature of our business, we do not offer refunds, but rest assured that we do stand behind the quality of the products that we sell and are committed to ensuring that you are satisfied with your purchase.

How do I get Warranty coverage ?

There are 3 possible options for getting warranty coverage:

  1. Take the product to your nearest factorydirect retail store.
  2. If the product has a manufacturer's warranty then please contact the manufacturer directly – many times the manufacturer will honour the warranty for periods sometimes longer than factorydirect and may offer free shipping.
  3. If you purchased a product online then you can contact our head office customer service department at rma@factorydirect.ca or 905-660-5030 ext. 113 or ext. 135 and they can arrange to ship you a replacement upon receipt of your defective product. Please note we only pay for return shipping by ground (you are responsible for shipping to us). We do not accept C.O.D. returns.
